Are you ready to switch to Member Checking?

Here's a list to help you get started:

1. Open your Member Checking Account with an initial deposit of $50. Click here to apply online or:
   By Phone: Call 781.455.6500 and apply over the phone.
   By Fax: Complete the Checking application and fax to 781.455.9922.
   By Mail: Complete the Checking application and mail with your deposit to:

   Direct Federal Credit Union
   PO Box 9123
   Needham, MA 02494-9123

   In Person: Stop by the Needham branch at 50 Cabot Street.
2. Stop using your old checking account and let all your outstanding checks clear. This could take up to 10 days. Destroy your old checks, ATM, and/or Debit cards.
3. Close your old Checking Account. Click here to get and print the Authorization to Close form and submit to your previous financial institution. The form states that you want your account closed and any balance forwarded to your new account at Direct Federal. Remember to verify that all checks and automatic withdrawals have cleared from your previous account before you close it.
4. Switch all direct deposits and automatic payments. Print the Direct Deposit form and submit to your employer in order to authorize direct deposit into your new Checking Account. Also, notify each creditor (i.e. fitness center, utilities, etc.) who may be deducting payments from your current account. Click here for a Redirect Automatic Payment form.

Direct Deposit Checklist

As you make the switch to Member Checking, use the checklist below to ensure the switch of all of your direct deposits and automatic payments. Check the list below to make sure you remember to switch all your direct deposits and automatic payments. Reviewing the last two months of your financial statements is helpful as well.
