Additionally, when logged into online banking, we may collect:

For our everyday business purposes – such as to process your transactions, maintain Account(s), respond to court orders and legal investigations, or report to credit bureau. For example, we share your contact information with Zelle® to process person to person transactions.

How does Direct Federal Credit Union protect my personal information?

To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use security measures that comply with federal law. These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and buildings.

How does Direct Federal Credit Union collect my information?

We collect your personal information, for example, when you:

  • Open an Account or Apply for a loan
  • Use your Credit or Debit Card
  • Make deposits or withdrawals from your Account
  • Give us your contact information

We also collect your personal information from other companies, such as credit bureaus.

Why can’t I limit all sharing?

Federal law gives you the right to limit only:

  • Sharing for affiliates’ everyday business purposes – information about your credit worthiness
  • Affiliates from using your information to market to you
  • Sharing for non-affiliates to market to you

Definitions

Affiliates

Companies related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and non-financial companies.

  • Direct Federal has no affiliates.

Non-affiliates

Companies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and non-financial companies.

  • Direct Federal does not share with non-affiliates so they can market to you

Joint Marketing

A formal agreement between non-affiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you.

  • Our joint marketing partners include insurance companies.

Use of Images

Direct Federal Credit Union collects images of checks within our online banking platform including our Mobile Application. These check images are only used to process deposits and provide users access to display the images in their transaction history.  Images in our Mobile Application are uploaded at the user's discretion for purposes of personalization. We do not share these images.

Information Collected while Using the  Direct Federal Mobile Application

While using Zelle®, to use the QR Code feature, with your prior permission, Direct Federal Credit Union may collect or access pictures and other information from your device's Contacts, Camera, and Photos.
