At Direct Federal, we’re committed to our community. We offer two distinct scholarship opportunities.
Eligibility
- Class of 2024 high school graduate
- A member of Direct Federal Credit Union or immediate family member of a member
- Pursuing higher education
David Johnson Leadership Scholarship
In honor of Direct Federal Credit Union Board Member, former Vice-Chairman, Chairman, and Chairman Emeritus, David Johnson, and his 35 years of service, this scholarship will recognize, reward, and provide financial assistance to a deserving student who has demonstrated one of David’s strongest qualities, leadership.
- $12,000 Scholarship
$3,000 per year, up to four consecutive years, to be used at the discretion of the recipient. - Guaranteed Paid Summer Internship
Internship at Direct Federal for three summers.
Participation by student is optional.

Donald Kelliher Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Scholarship
In honor of Direct Federal Credit Union's former Board Vice-Chairman, Chairman, and now Chairman Emeritus, Don Kelliher, this scholarship recognizes a student who has led or supported an effort to make their school and/or community inclusive. During Don’s time as Chairman, he was instrumental in founding the Diversity and Inclusion Team at the Credit Union.
- $12,000 Scholarship
$3,000 per year, up to four consecutive years, to be used at the discretion of the recipient. - Guaranteed Paid Summer Internship
