Direct Federal Credit Union hires Devon Lyon as Vice President, Strategic Research and Risk Management 09/20/2018

Direct Federal Credit Union has named Devon Lyon to the position of Vice President, Strategic Research and Risk Management.  As part of Direct Federal’s Senior Leadership Team, Lyon will provide research for strategic initiatives, build and manage Direct’s enterprise risk management (ERM) system, and oversee the credit union’s compliance function.  Additionally, Lyon will serve as Direct’s liaison to the credit union community.

Lyon comes to Direct with extensive experience in the credit union industry, most recently as Director of Education at the National Association of Federal Credit Unions where he designed and implemented all educational content. He created an accredited BSA/AML conference for credit unions. Before that he was Director of Compliance and Project Management for State Department Federal Credit Union in Alexandria, VA where he developed, implemented, and lead a core conversion.

Devon is originally from upstate New York and has a B.A. in Political Science from Binghamton University and a J.D. from Albany Law School of Union University.  He will be vital in the continued growth of Direct Federal, which has seen a 33% growth in assets over the last two years.
