Direct Sponsors Three Squares New England Ride for Food 09/21/2014

Needham, MA – (September 21, 2014): This past September 21st a group of dedicated employees from Direct Federal Credit Union led by CEO Joe Walsh swapped their suits for spandex, hopped on their bikes and rode for up to 50 miles through Metro West as part of the credit union’s sponsorship of this Three Squares New England event.  In its third year, the Ride for Food’s goal is to raise over $200,000 to combat hunger in local communities.

Walsh, an avid cyclist himself, remarked, “50 miles is a bit aggressive, but a cause like this one makes those miles go by pretty quickly, and there’s nothing quite like the feeling you get at the end.” 

In addition, Walsh and two employees from Direct Federal then went on to raise additional funds for the Needham Community Council, an organization which supports individuals and families in Needham who have under-met health, educational or social needs.

Direct Federal looks forward to participating in this event next year and partnering with the Needham Community Council for future events.
